The Human Voice (Broadway Theatre...

Ingrid Bergman gives a virtuoso solo performance in this Jean Cocteau one-act. The plot of this hour-long piece is a simple one: a woman, devastated after her lover leaves her for someone else, speaks to him on the phone one last time. The piece is beautifully, perfectly written and performed--all of the little lies and desperate hopes of heartbreak are captured. Bergman’s performance is as brave as it is complex--she is willing to let her character crumble into an embarrassing weakness that few actresses would risk. Anyone who has ever nursed false hopes of salvaging a relationship will find this piece all too well done. See it, but not right after a breakup

Communication

cover

Fawlty Towers, Vol. 2 - Gourmet...

. "Communications Problems" finds Basil once again plotting behind his wife's back, this time for a little off-track betting. His horse comes in, but his effort to hide his winnings becomes complicated when a guest is robbed and Basil's sneaking and sudden handful of cash make him the prime suspect. Complicating matters is dotty Major Gowan, the reality-impaired resident whose forgetfulness only lands Basil in worse trouble. Basil's prudish hypocrisy gets a workout in "The Psychiatrist" when a handsome young chap sneaks a girl into his room. Compounding Basil's strange behavior is the discovery that another guest is a psychiatrist, sending Basil into a tizzy as he is sure the man is analyzing his every utterance. As his attempts to catch the adulterers in the act turns into a bedroom farce, Basil finds himself caught in a position both compromising and absurd--his duck-walking climax has to be seen to be believed. -

METT/SETT Hybrid*
*©Paul Ekman 2004

Paul Ekman’s research found seven emotions have universal expressions: enjoyment, fear, surprise, sadness, contempt, anger and disgust. METT trains your eyes to spot these emotions automatically.
Interactive/Self-Administered Training
METT/SETT Hybrid*

MicroExpression Training Tools (METT) and Subtle Expression Training Tools (SETT) provide self instructional training to improve your ability to recognize facial expressions of emotion. In under an hour, METT will train you to see very brief (1/25th of a second) microexpressions of concealed emotion. SETT teaches you to recognize the subtlest signs of when an emotion is first beginning in another person.

Group METT/SETT Training/Research

Group METT/SETT Training/Research
This CD has been modified for training a group of people, rather than having each person use his or her own METT or SETT CD on their own computer. It should be helpful for trainers and researchers who work with groups. In this version of METT the administrator can present the pretest, the practice, and the posttest one item at a time. Unlike the standard METT, no judgment needs to be entered in order to advance to the next expression. If METT is used as a test, the training and review modules can be skipped. Unlike the standard SETT, no judgment has to be entered in order to advance to the next expression. Three different random orders are provided.

YOU MUST BE AN ACCREDITED TRAINER OR RESEARCHER TO PURCHASE THIS CD. Contact verification@paulekman.com for more details.
